A key part of Ballard Food Bank’s mission is providing access to nutritious foods for everyone. Since we moved into our new home two years ago, we have expanded our programs and are serving more of our neighbors than ever before: over 8,000 each month!
Additionally, we provide financial assistance for rent and utilities and connect folks to other services via our Community Resource Hub.
Advocates for food equity and justice, we believe access to food is a human right, as is access to housing, education, and healthcare. Lack of access to these fundamental rights is a direct result of systemic racism and other systemic injustices that lead to poverty. We’re committed to meeting the needs of our community in the moment, while working for long term systems change.
