Author and sociologist Matthew Desmond was in Seattle in late March for a talk. Ballard Food Bank staff and supporters read the book, attended the talk, and are having a follow-up virtual discussion with our community. We would love to have you join us for our virtual event.
One of Ballard Food Bank’s values is that access to food is a human right, as is access to housing, education, and healthcare. Lack of access to these fundamental rights is a direct result of systemic racism and other systemic injustices that lead to poverty.
We’re excited to delve into this book together to have a chance to connect with neighbors to discuss this critical issue.
