Food REcovery

Much of the food in our community market and home delivery bags is donated by grocery store neighbors.

Through our Food Recovery program, our volunteer drivers collect food donations from 24 neighboring businesses.

We also receive fresh produce from a dozen neighboring P-Patches, including weekly pick-ups from the Ballard and Interbay gardens during the summer!

Our partners help us keep our shelves stocked with a wide variety of items for our shoppers and their families, while also keeping excess or soon-to-expire food from going to waste.

In 2022, recovered food totaled 836,040 pounds – including fresh produce, meat, baked goods, pet food, and more.

We are so grateful for the support of our grocery and retail partners!
