grocery and retail partners help feed our community
Much of the food in our community market and home delivery bags is donated by grocery store neighbors. Through our Food Recovery program, our volunteer drivers collect food donations from 21 neighboring businesses.
We also receive fresh produce from a dozen neighboring P-Patches, including weekly pick-ups from the Ballard and Interbay gardens during the summer!
Our partners help us keep our shelves stocked with a wide variety of items for our shoppers and their families, while also keeping excess or soon-to-expire food from going to waste.
In 2024, recovered food totaled over 1.5 million pounds – including fresh produce, meat, baked goods, pet food, and more.

Donate unsold food to your local food bank and help feed your community. We make it easy!
Set aside unsold, edible food and we’ll come pick it up! Our Food Recovery team picks up donations in the morning, 7 days/week.
What can we take?
Produce, shelf-stable foods, refrigerated & frozen foods, prepared foods, pet and hygiene items, and more. Food must be suitable for people to eat.

Grocery store donations help feed neighbors in your community. 1 in 10 adults in Seattle face food insecurity, and 19% of commercial food is wasted. Donating also keeps edible food out of the trash and compost, reducing food waste costs.
